Prohibition and obligation in French language

Je dois, tu dois, il doit, nous devons... (I must, you must, he must, we must...)

The French course happening on Tuesday, May 7th in Strasbourg was about wording prohibition and obligation. Participants and teacher punctuated the course by mixing the meaning of traffic rules and regulations signs with the verb ‘devoir’ (must).

Once the instructions had been explained, the participants answered questions independently and then moved on to a collective correction. Thus, drawing inspiration from illustrations, sentences were formulated such as: "Je dois composter mon billet" (I must stamp my ticket) or "Je ne dois pas mettre les pieds sur le siège" (I must not step on the seat).
